Abstract The aim of this Regulation is to protect the marine environment and coasts against pollution. It is composed of 11 articles. Articles 1 and 2 deal with terms and definitions. Article 3 classifies oils on the basis of their pollution levels. Articles 4-6 define competencies and duties of the Minister and Ministry of Environment. Article 7 addresses employees and officers in charge to control and inspect installations or transportation means. Article 8 defines obligations of marine transportation means.
