Abstract

This Regulation sets forth standards applicable to characteristics of olive oil. It also provides for the classification of olive oils into categories and subcategories. The Regulation consists of three Chapters: (I) General provisions; (II) Definitions and quality standards for olive oils; (III) Methods for quality analysis. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food shall set up the Commission of Experts for Olive Oil Evaluation, which will operate in compliance with ministerial guidelines.
