Abstract The present Regulation prohibits hunting for minke whales, with the exception of Norwegian vessels that hold an authorization for mink whale hunting for the year 2023. Authorized Norwegian vessels may huhnt a total of 1000 minke whales in Norway's economic zone, in the fishing protection zone near Svalbard, in the fishing zone near Jan Mayen, and in international waters in the IWC areas ESB, EW, EN, and CM.
