This Regulation enters into force on 10 April 2006.
Abstract

This Regulation establishes the procedure for entry of varieties in the Variety List and for the performance of registration trials and state trials for the agricultural value of cultivation and use, the list of plant varieties subject to entry in the Variety List, the minimum requirements for the characteristics of agricultural plant and vegetable species and the requirements for the maintenance checks of varieties performed in the course of supervision. Varieties of cereals, fodder crops, oil crops, fibre crops, vegetables, beets and potatoes specified in Annex which conform to the requirements of distinctness, uniformity and stability pursuant and which have a suitable variety denomination and satisfactory value for cultivation and which are harmless to human, animal and plant health and to the surrounding environment are entered in the Variety List. A variety is entered in the Variety List on the basis of an application of the holder of the plant variety right or of the maintainer of the variety. The following information concerning a variety shall be entered in the Variety List: (a) the Latin and common name of the plant species; (b) the variety denomination; (c) the date of entry in the Variety List; (d) the date of exclusion from the Variety List; and (e) the name and contact details of the applicant, if necessary, the name and contact details of the representative and maintainer.
