The Board operates as a consulting and coordination body for all food control activities in the Republic of Albania. It shall be in charge of: determining food control priorities; coordinating the activities of various food control bodies at central and local level; coordinating the various reference centers and laboratories; proposing legal revisions and amendments if necessary; collaborating with other institutions to develop an overall interest and understanding of food quality and safety; and assisting in solving food-related problems raised by consumers and producers.
