Abstract

This Regulation applies to plain land forests and mountain forests and shall be binding on all legal persons, foreign or domestic, and natural persons that undertake forestry operations or management. Felling operations must ensure: (a) the continuous, sustainable and rational use of forest resources; (b) that the water conservation and protective functions of forests is preserved and strengthened; and (c) reforestation, increased forest productivity and prevention of erosion. The type of felling and timber extraction determined according to the species, use, and age of the trees and the amount and condition of undergrowth. The following types of felling shall be authorized in the forests of the Ural: (a) selection felling; (b) gradual felling and (c) clear felling.
