Abstract

This Regulation specifies the list of areas of activity set out in subsection 6 (2) of the Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Management System Act in which a preliminary assessment of the necessity of an environmental impact assessment must be given as to whether the activity has significant environmental effects. The Regulation consists of 15 sections: Scope of regulation (1); Energy (2); Mining and geology (3); Production and processing of metals (4); Processing of mineral materials (5); Chemical industry (6); Food industry (7); Pulp, paper and textile industry and tanning (8); Agriculture, forestry and fishing and land improvement (9); Waste management (10); Special use of water (11); Storage of fuel and chemical products (12); Construction of infrastructure (13); Tourism industry, establishment of recreation, sports or recreation areas (14); and Other fields of activity (15).
