Abstract

The Regulation concerns a grant scheme, which shall contribute to a management of wildlife that promotes a harvestable surplus of the game. Within this framework, the scheme will facilitate employment and value creation based on hunting and trapping as part of outdoor recreation. Grants may be given by the Directorate of the Environment to voluntary organizations, institutions, municipalities and individuals for, among other things - mapping of wildlife resources and wildlife habitats, as well as wildlife interests in municipalities and regions, incorporating the wildlife habitat and game interests into municipal plans under the Planning and Building Act, establishment and operation of local cooperation councils, participation in the licensees' operational planning work and management-directed research and monitoring. Priority will be given to applications for grants for measures that are part of a planning framework.
