Abstract This Regulation is composed of 71 articles and 7 Annexes. Articles 1 and 2 contain terms and definitions. Articles 3-7 deal with general provisions including: marine environment protection; authorizations and environmental requirements in order to carry out economic activities related to the discharge and drainage of solid waste, waste water, oil and waste treatment stations; responsibilities of the Authority of the Zone on the control and regulation of well drilling and well digging. Articles 8-24 address matters related to Environmental Impact Assessments and the competences and duties of the Environment Regulating Department. Articles 25-35 deal with the environmental verification. Articles 36-51 make provisions on air protection, pollutants' emission control, solid waste treatment, the control on the use of pesticides and on noise control. Articles 52-64 have to do with marine environment protection. Articles 65-70 address general provisions including: licence fees; the regulation of the position of firms and installations; the issuance of directives for the implementation of this Regulation. Annex 1 lists the information needed from the owner of the project. Annex 2 contains the list of the projects which need a complete Environmental Impact Assessment (First Category). Annex 3 contains the list of the projects which need an initial Environmental Impact Assessment (Second Category). Annex 4 contains the Form for the Environmental Impact Assessment. Annex 5 contains the environmental standards for the projects of the Second Category. Annex 6 lists the information to be provided in the EIA document.
