Abstract This Regulation lays down provisions to form and undertake fisheries projects to yield profit to the fishing industry of the Maldives, to protect the parties that invest, plan and operate fisheries projects, to establish a project evaluation committee, and to determine offences and penalties. Furthermore, the Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture shall determine the stages for obtaining permit to conduct fisheries projects and the implementation of them under an accountable procedure. This regulation applies to the parties undertaking projects stipulated in schedule 1 of this regulation, in the maritime zones and in the seas, internal waters of the atolls, reefs, lagoons, seas, water ponds and islands, included in the borders of the Maldives.
