Chapter 35 is concerned specifically with economic and environmental crimes. Section 35-1 creates the National Authority for Investigation and Prosecution of Economic and Environmental Crime in Norway (Økokrim), a central unit for fighting different crimes, including environmental crimes and corruption. As regards environmental crimes, the Unit covers different laws and works with crimes covering six main fields: aquaculture, work environment, animal welfare, pollution, art and cultural heritage, and nature. As regards corruption, the Unit covers Ch. 30 of the Penal Code titled “Fraud, tax fraud and similar financial crime”, which includes the crimes of corruption and trading in influence, among others.
