Abstract The purpose of the present Regulation, adopted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, is to establish a scheme to maintain sales opportunities for Norwegian-produced milk fat in the form of butter oil for the production of blended margarine domestically. Price reduction is granted for butter oil used in the industrial production of blended margarine products, and where the finished product is intended for final use in the retail market. The scheme is open to all dairy companies that supply butter oil to the margarine industry, and which participate in the price equalization scheme for milk.
