Abstract The purpose of the present Regulation is to help prevent the escape of fish from aquaculture facilities in seas, lakes and watercourses by ensuring proper technical standards at the facilities. It applies to anyone subject to aquaculture authorization under the Aquaculture Act. As a general requirement, authorization holders must ensure that the requirements for aquaculture facilities and its components, as well as their use and maintenance, are met, and producers of goods and services must ensure that they meet the requirements of this Regulation. The Regulation contains 50 articles divided into the following chapters: 1) Purpose, scope of application and definitions; 2) General provisions; 3) Site survey; 4) General requirements for aquaculture facilities and their components; 5) Requirements for specific components etc.; 6) Accreditaion requirement; 7) Product certification and life extension; 8) Aquaculture facility certification; 9) Requirements for use, maintenance, measures in case of discrepancies and obligation to notify, etc.; 10) Final provisions.
