Abstract The Regulation sets rules on the promotion of animal welfare during transportation. It applies to poultry, cattle, equine, rodents, aquatic and domestic animals. Inland transportation of animals for slaughtering must be maximum 8 hours. Approval and certification of transported animals shall follow in order to comply with the Regulation guidance and in adherence to EU directives.
