Abstract

The objective of the present Regulation is to ensure the protection and respect of indigenous peoples' and local communities' interests when third parties access and exploit their traditional knowledge related to genetic resources which have been developed, used, conserved, and transmitted by an indigenous people or local community. The Regulation requires indigenous people or local community as regards access and utilization of their traditional knowledge related to genetic resources.
