Abstract The Regulation applies to fishing in ICES statistical area IV of the territorial waters, in the exclusive economic zone, and in the EU zone (the statistical area is understood as IV statistical area west from a straight line between Lindesnes and Hanstholmen). In the Norwegian territorial waters and in ICES statistical area IIIa of Skagerrak, 4 nautical miles from the coast in the area delimited on the west by a straight line through Hanstholmen and Lindesnes lighthouses, and on the south by a straight line from Hansenøre to Grub point, from Kors point to Spodsbjerg, and from Gilbjerg head to Kullen. Total allowable catch and landing for sprat by Norwegian vessels is equivalent to 3 900 tons, and allowed period is only from 1 April to 31 July. Total allowable catch for vessels fishing in the EU zone is equivalent to 700 tons. Sea sprat catch may contain a maximum of 10% herring weight at landing. Participants in agreement according to the draw list of sprat fishing in EU waters in 2012 repeals on 19 January 2012.
