Abstract

This Regulation lists the activities in which operators are required to participate in the greenhouse gas emission allowance trading system, including activities in which operators of stationary emission sources must have an environmental permit or integrated environmental permit to participate in the trading system. This Regulation does not apply to installations or parts thereof which carry out research and development or testing of new products and processes or which use only biomass. Technical units that use only biomass are also those that use fossil fuels only during start-up or shut-down. The Regulation consists of five sections: Scope of regulation (1); List of activities of operators of stationary emission sources (2); Calculation of total rated thermal input (3); List of activities of aircraft operators (4); and Entry into force of regulation (5).
