Abstract The Regulation is designed to ensure the management of char-fishing in Svalbard, and its purpose is to maintain stock productivity and composition ensuring recreational fishing activities can take place. Trout-fishing may only take place after grant of license and only residents of the area may net-fish for char. The Regulation lists authorized quota, fishing equipment and methods (article 10).
