Abstract

The Methodical Instruction are destined for the determination of histamine in fishes (scomber, scad, Pollack, coalfish, tunny fish, herring, sprats, salmon, etc.) with the use of test system ridascreen histamine. RIDASCREEN® is the registered trade mark of R-Biopharm, Germany. Histamine is one of the biogenic amines formed in fishes as a result of decarboxylation of amino acids, including the activity of bacteria. As biogenic amines pertain to the substances involved in metabolism of higher animals they can easily be metabolized and that is the reason why they can be endured by human beings is the concentration thereof is kept within allowable level. If the contents of histamine exceed the normal level the mechanism of natural detoxification of amines owing to the activity of ferments amino oxides (histaminases) is not able to cope with it. The essence of the methods consists in inter-action between the antigens and the antibodies. The plane-table that makes part of the set RIDASCREEN® Histamin is sensibilized with histamine.
