Abstract The present Regulation contains 29 Articles and applies to agricultural and aquaculture products which mention organic production in their labeling and/or advertising. It applies to every phase of production, processing, distribution, sales and import from countries outside the EEA area of such products. It applies to: a) live and unprocessed agricultural and aquaculture products; b) processed products for food or feed; c) vegetative propagation material; d) seeds for cultivation; e) yeast for foodstuffs or feed; f) salt for foodstuffs or feed; g) certain products closely related to agricultural products, including untreated cotton and wool, raw hide, untreated leather and beeswax. Article 2 makes Regulation (EU) 2018/848 of the European Parliament and of the Council on organic production and labelling of organic products applicable in Norway, and articles 3 and 4 makes other relevant EU legislation applicable. Businesses that intend to carry out activities covered by these regulations must apply to the Norwegian Food Safety Authority for approval.
