Abstract

This Regulation prohibits to import equidae from Romania as well as semen, eggs and embryos or blood products from such animals. Animals that are properly marked and certified as specified in this Regulation (which refers to Commission Decision 201/346 on protective measures with regard to equine infectious anaemia in Romania) and certain frozen semen and serum shall be excepted from this prohibition. Animals that are imported from Romania should either be slaughtered within 72 hours from arrival or be kept in quarantine of 30 days. Tests on such animals shall be carried out. Imported animals may be exported within 90 days at prescribed conditions.
