Regulation No. 1054 on compensation and subsidies to climate-related damages in plant and honey production. Country/Territory Norway Document type Regulation Date 2015 Source FAO, FAOLEX Subject Agricultural & rural development, Food & nutrition Keyword Liability/compensation Apiculture/sericulture Financial agricultural measures Resource/damage valuation Climate change Geographical area Europe, Europe and Central Asia, North Atlantic, North Sea, North-East Atlantic, Northern Europe Abstract This Regulation aims to establish rules for calculating compensation for climate-related damages in plant and honey production, and to determine the rates to be used in these calculations. Application deadlines for these provisions fall on 31 October for the compensation for crop and honey production failure. The document includes a table of standardized rates and norms for the compensation of crop failure/damages (Chapter 5). Companies must submit notification to the municipality, which will conduct site inspection to ensure compliance. The average honey production is calculated from documented honey production in kg/behive. Compensation is calculated on the number of beehives in the year of claim multiplied by the average production/cube. Then there will be deducted 30% at own risk and production damaged which are not climate-dependent. For enterprises in the start-up or dismantling phase the municipality may determine average production discretionarily based on production levels for comparable enterprises in the area Full text Norwegian Website www.lovdata.no References - Legislation Repeals Regulation No. 924 on compensation and subsidies to climate-related damages in plant and honey production.
