Abstract

The present Regulation, issued by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, sets detailed rules on the monitoring of resistance to antibiotics. The Icelandic Food and Veterinary Authority shall be responsible for reporting resistance detected in animals, animal products or food, feed materials for feed production, feed, fishmeal, water, environment or other samples related to the agency's surveillance activity. The Regulation contains three articles followed by an Annex containing the Commission Implementing Decision of 12 November 2013 on the monitoring and reporting of antimicrobial resistance in zoonotic and commensal bacteria.
