Abstract

The scope of disinfection, disinfestation and deratization in apiaries shall be to render harmless bee pests and diseases and prevent possible damages from rodents. Disinfection, disinfestation and deratization arrangements envisage preventive measures as integral part of antiepizootic arrangements on district, provincial and regional level, including treatment of apiaries owned by artisanal beekeepers. Objects of disinfection shall be: (a) beehives; (b) bee’s cells; (c) equipment; (d) apiaries; and (f) apiary areas. Disinfection of apiaries shall be carried out either for preventive purposes or for liquidation of the outbreaks of bee infectious diseases.
