Abstract

There are hereby established particular rules governing the control and supply of water for human consumption, with a view to ensuring the wholesomeness and quality of such waters. The use of non potable water for the production and preservation of products intended for human consumption shall be prohibited (art. 2). Natural mineral waters are not encompassed. Article 4 gives detailed definitions in order to clearly delimitate the application scope. The annexes attached set out microbiological and chemical characteristics applicable to potable water.
