Abstract

This Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, which is composed of eight paragraphs, lays down certain veterinary requirements relating to the construction and equipment, which should met for the production of products of animal origin in slaughterhouses of low production capacity. These requirements apply to slaughterhouses where annually there are slaughtered not more than: (1) 1,000 equine animals; (2) 150,000 head of poultry; (3) 100 ratite birds. The slaughterhouses must also meet requirements specified in the Regulation (EC) No. 853/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down specific hygiene rules for the hygiene of foodstuffs.
