Abstract This Regulation prescribes detailed conditions for the production of medicated feed, including the manner and procedure for declaring, placing on the market and the manner of use of such medicated animal feed (medicated feed is a feed containing any mixture of a veterinary medicinal product having a pharmaceutical premix form for medicated feedingstuffs and prepared feedingstuffs intended as such for animal nutrition for medicinal and preventive purposes because of its properties or other properties deriving from contained and declared veterinary medicinal products). Only approved premixtures are used in the production of medicated feed (article 3). For issues on declaration of medicated feed see Chapter 3 (articles 6-9). Chapter 4 is related to the indications on the proper use of medicated feed for animals.
