This Regulation enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Abstract

This Regulation amends the purpose of the Principal Regulation laid down in Article 1 as "The purpose of this Regulation is to determine (I) the procedures and principles and quality criteria of surface water (such as drainage, stream, lake, pond, dam, sea water) and groundwater (such as wells, springs, catchments, tunnels, galleries) intended for potable water supply, (II) the treatment classes to be determined in order for the water to be used as drinking and utility water, (III) the treatment efficiency, and (IV) the issues related to the design and operation of drinking water treatment plants". Furthermore, this Regulation inserts Article 8/A regarding energy efficiency in drinking water treatment facilities and inserts new paragraphs to Article 10 regarding analyzes according to the parameters in Annex-1 on and quality monitoring of groundwater intended for potable water supply.
