Abstract This Regulation amends some parts of the section 3 of the Regulation on the extension of the jurisdiction of the Republic of Croatia in the Adriatic Sea (Official Gazette 157/2003, 77/2004 and 138/2006) as follows: Protected ecological and fishing zone of Croatian Republic will temporarily not apply to Member States of the European Union until the 15 March 2008, until a common agreement in the EU administration. Croatia, as a candidate country in the process of accession to the European Union will continue and further strengthen the dialogue with Member States and the Commission in order to rapidly reach an agreement that will provide maximum ecological and fishing protection of the Adriatic sea domain, taking into account the legitimate interests of all Croatians. Croatian fishermen (all natural or legal persons from Croatian territory, which are engaged in fishing in the Adriatic Sea) have the same status as the fishermen of the Member States of the European Union in the field of protected ecological and fishing zone, in order to reach the agreement referred in paragraph 2.
