Permission could be granted to individuals and companies for private afforestation, erosion control, rehabilitation and fuel wood harvesting on areas which were previously classified as deteriorated forest area, non-forested land, agricultural area, and on hazel nut and tea gardens; but all the above mentioned activities are not allowed on tourist areas, ancient archaeological and natural sites, coastal areas and protected areas under the National Parks Law. The mining area size will be considered during private afforestation, erosion controlling, and rehabilitation efforts on mining areas exceeding 300 ha.
