It also concerns its management. The Council shall evaluate how the Government's overall policy is consistent with the climate goals that are established by the Parliament and the Government. Within the framework of this general task, the Climate Policy Council shall in particular 1. evaluate whether the focus in different relevant policy areas contributes to or counteracts the opportunity to reach the climate goals; 2. highlight the effects of decided and proposed instruments from a broad social perspective; 3. identify policy areas where additional measures are needed; 4. analyze how the goals can be achieved in a cost-effective way, both short and long term; and 5.
