Abstract

This Regulation, made under section 13 of Chapter 15 of the Environmental Code, contains provisions on the obligation of those who provide plastic bags to the public to inform the consumer on such bags and their environmental impact in order to reduce the consumption of such bags and thereby reduce littering and promote more efficient resource utilization. Those who manufacture plastic bags shall report annually to the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency on the annual production of bags intended for the Swedish market.
