Ships not exceeding ten tons burden employed solely in navigation of rivers or coast of Dominica or ships not exceeding fifteen tons burden and not having a whole or fixed deck and employed solely in fishing or trading coastwise shall be exempted from registration. Every ship shall before registration be surveyed by a surveyor of ships and every ship shall be marked to the satisfaction of the Ministry (sects. 8 and 9). The remaining provisions deal with procedures of registration, registration certificates and certificates of competence to be held by ship's officers.
