Abstract

The Regional Regulation makes provision on taxidermy and embalming. Such activities shall be subject to the previous issuance of a special authorization by the President of the competent Province. When taxidermy and embalming are carried out for marketing purposes, embalmers must be registered in the Register of Craft Enterprises or in the Register of Enterprises (art. 1, par. 1). Article 2 regulates the qualification test intended for the issuance of the above-mentioned authorization. Article 3 provides for the Provincial List of Taxidermists and Embalmers, to be kept and annually updated by the Province. Embalming is permitted only under certain conditions and on the species defined by article 4: a) wildlife that may be hunted; b) exotic fauna; c) domestic fauna. Article 6 sets out identification requirements for embalmed animals. Article 9 lays down penalties, without any prejudice to the application of penalties established under article 30, paragraph 2 of Act No. 157 of 11 February 1992.
