Abstract This Regional Law regulates relations in the sphere of conservation, management and protection of wild fauna species, genetic resources and natural habitats thereof. Wild fauna species within regional boundaries, except for species pertaining to federal property, shall be considered regional property. Wild fauna species taken out of their natural environment in accordance with acting legislation can pertain to private, public, municipal property and other forms of ownership. Regional Government shall carry out the following plenary powers: (a) protection and reproduction of wild fauna species and natural habitats thereof; (b) keeping Red Book of endangered, rare and protected wild fauna species; (c) regulation of the number of wild fauna species; and (d) issuance of hunting permits and permits for captive breeding of wild fauna species.
