Abstract The present Regional Law establishes legal basis for ensuring quality and safety of foodstuffs and alimentary raw materials in the sphere of their production, storage, transport, trade and is aimed at the protection of public health in conformity with the requirements of medical science. The document consists of VI Ses. that contain 25 Arts. Section I (arts. 1-4) lays down general provisions. Section II (Arts. 5-6) establishes plenary powers of state executive bodies and local self-government in the sphere of ensuring quality and safety of foodstuffs. Section III (Arts. 7-13) regards state regulation in the sphere of ensuring quality and safety of foodstuffs. Section IV (Arts. 14-22) establishes general requirements for ensuring quality and safety of foodstuffs.
