Abstract This Regional Law establishes legal grounds for hunting and hunting management, conservation, reproduction and sustainable management of hunting species, conservation and improvement of regional hunting grounds. The scope of this Regional Law shall be to ensure: (a) state interests in the sphere of conservation and reproduction of hunting species; (b) rational management of hunting species; (c) protection of rights and interests of hunters and hunting managers; and (d) conservation of national hunting traditions (Art. 2). Hunting grounds shall be considered land areas, forestland and waterbodies that are natural habitats of wild animals and birds and that can be used for hunting management (Art. 7). Regional hunting grounds shall be classified as: (a) allotted to hunting managers for organization of hunting and hunting management; (b) common use hunting grounds; and (c) prohibited hunting areas (Art. 7). Wild fauna species subject to hunting living in state of natural freedom on regional hunting grounds shall be state property (Art. 9). Hunting shall be carried out in accordance with hunting authorization and hunting permit (Art. 17). Hunting shall require payment of fee for hunting permit (Art. 24).
