Abstract This Regional Law sets forth criteria and quality standards for ecologically pure potable water, types of water supply systems, regulates relations in the sphere of water supply and water consumption, and ensure water supply to citizens and legal persons. Basic principles of water supply shall be as follows: (a) the right of to have a daily supply of 10 litres of ecologically pure potable water for drinking and cooking purposes per person; (b) state regulation of water supply; (c) reliability of water supply systems; (d) registration of water supply and water consumption and payment therefore; and (d) stimulation of water supplying organizations for provision of the consumers with water complying with standards.
