Abstract This Regional Law delimits the powers of the regional state bodies in the field of forestry relations and determines the sources of financial support for the exercise of powers in the field of forestry. Regional Government shall have the following powers in the field of forest relations: (a) adoption, within the limits of its competence, of normative legal acts in the field of forestry relations; (b) formation of the regional executive bodies in the field of forest relations, assignment of powers and functions thereto; (c) possession, use, disposal of forest plots pertaining to the regional ownership; (d) decision-making on classification of forests as forest parks and green areas; (e) determination of functional zones in forest parks, in which forests are located, the establishment and change of the area and boundaries of land under forest parks and green areas; (f) price setting for timber extraction in public forests and registration of extracted timber; (g) organization and performance of forest fires prevention arrangements; (h) allotment of forest plots located within the boundaries of land of forest fund, for permanent (unlimited) use, rent, free use; (i) conclusion of purchase and sale contracts applicable to forest species located on the land of forest fund; and (j) establishment of servitude, public servitude in relation to forest plots located within the boundaries of forest land.
