Abstract This Regional Law regulates public relations in the field of reindeer breeding in the Amur region in order to protect the original habitat, preservation of the traditional way of life and economic activities of small indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation in the Amur Region. State policy in the field of reindeer husbandry, carried out by state authorities of the region, is aimed at preserving and developing reindeer breeding. The main directions of state policy in the field of reindeer breeding in the region are: (a) creation of conditions for ensuring the sustainable development of reindeer husbandry; (b) creation and maintenance of the regime of expanded reproduction of reindeer; (c) establishment and maintenance of a rational nature management regime, ensuring the safety of reindeer pastures, which are characterized by increased environmental vulnerability; and (d) providing state support for indigenous engaged in reindeer herding. State support in the field of reindeer husbandry is carried out in order to ensure the guarantee of sustainable development of reindeer husbandry, protection of the original habitat, preserving the traditional way of life and culture of small indigenous peoples and ensuring their employment. Land plots located in the state or municipal property, are provided for reindeer pastures according to the procedure, envisaged by the legislation of the Russian Federation. Off-road traffic is prohibited on reindeer pastures in order to prevent damage or destruction of reindeer pastures, except when necessary for the prevention of emergency situations and liquidation of their consequences. Reindeer herders and reindeer farms carry out a constant protection of reindeer, fighting against predators. Full text Russian Website publication.pravo.gov.ru
