Abstract The scope of this Regional law shall be creation of the conditions for bee raising regarding honey bees (Apis mellifera), use thereof for pollination of agricultural entomophilous plants, obtaining apiculture products, protection of honey bees, improvement of apiculture efficiency and safeguarding rights and legal interests of natural and legal persons carrying out bee raising activity. State veterinary service shall supervise over the application and realization of veterinary and sanitary arrangements for the prevention of bee diseases at apiaries (art. 4). Bee farmers and bee keepers shall be granted the following rights: (a) to place apiaries (bee families) on land plots in their ownership, lease or tenancy; (b) obtain state support; (c) obtain veterinary assistance; (d) obtain from state bodies reliable information on the state of environment and possible risks for bees; and (e) trade apiculture products in the presence of veterinary and quality compliance certificates. Bee farmers and bee keepers must: (a) comply with zootechnical, veterinary and sanitary arrangements related to bee keeping, bee feeding and bee reproduction; (b) inform state veterinary institutions of bee diseases or sudden death of bees; and (c) be in possession of veterinary and sanitary certificates, issued by the competent state veterinary and sanitary institution, of apiaries with updated records of veterinary and sanitary state of apiaries (art. 5).
