Abstract This Regional Law regulates relations originating in the process of bee raising regarding honey bees (Apis mellifera), use thereof for pollination of agricultural entomophilous plants, obtaining apiculture products, protection of honey bees, improvement of apiculture efficiency and safeguarding rights and legal interests of natural and legal persons carrying out bee raising activity. The number of bee families owned by natural and legal persons shall not be limited except for cases envisaged by the national legislation. Bee families owned by natural and legal persons shall be subject to compulsory state registration and certification by state sanitary and veterinary bodies (Art. 7). Bee farmers shall have the right to place apiaries (bee families) on land plots in their ownership, lease or tenancy (Art. 6). Prevention of honey bee diseases, cure thereof and pest control shall be performed in accordance with veterinary legislation of the Russian Federation (Art. 10).
