Abstract This Regional Law regulates relations in the sphere of supply of potable water to the population and sets forth qualitative requirements for potable water in order to ensure conservation of public health and improvement of the quality of life. It shall be applicable either to potable water supply to residential facilities or to bottling of potable water and vending thereof. Safety of potable water supply shall be ensured through the following arrangements: (a) observance of sanitary and hygienic requirements and compliance therewith; (b) enforcement of legislative provisions related to potable water supply to the population; (c) state sanitary and hygienic supervision and mandatory certification of potable water supply operations; and (d) timely information of the population of the outbreak of infectious and mass non-infectious diseases related to potable water supply.
