Abstract This Regional Law establishes the rights and the duties of the regional state bodies with a view of protecting animal health against diseases, release of safe animal products, and protection human health against diseases common to animals and human beings. Basic tasks of the regional state veterinary service shall be as follows: (a) realization of the federal and regional programs for the prevention of quarantine and particularly dangerous animal diseases and mitigation of the consequences thereof; (b) enforcement of veterinary legislation; (c) protection of the regional territory against introduction of animal diseases; and (d) performance of state veterinary supervision.
