Abstract This Regional Law establishes that citizens, registered residents on the regional territory, shall have the right for timber extraction of forest species for individual personal needs, including fuelwood for heating, building timber for housing construction and repairs, in accordance with purchase and sale contract of forest species with the period of validity no longer than one year and without allotment of forest parcels . Rates of timber extraction shall be established as follows: (a) fuelwood for heating – up to 15 cubic metres annually; (b) for housing construction once in twenty-five years – up to 76 cubic metres for residential building, country house on a plot of agricultural land used for subsidiary small-holding – up to 20 cubic metres, for household outbuildings – up to 20 cubic metres; and (c) for repairs and reconstruction of housing facilities and household outbuildings – up to 10 cubic metres once in ten years.
