Abstract This Regional Law regulates organization, protection and functioning of protected areas with a view of conservation of unique and typical ecosystems, biological and landscape diversity, wild fauna and wild flora, genetic resources thereof, study of natural processes in the biosphere, control over change of state thereof, and ecological education of the population. Any activity within the boundaries of recreational forests (forest parks) that may cause deterioration of sanitary, hygienic and recreational qualities thereof shall be prohibited. In case of inclusion of areas beyond regional boundaries for creation of protected areas such issues shall be regulated by interregional agreements.
