Abstract This Regional Law establishes legal grounds for performance by regional state bodies of the activities for ensuring protection of agricultural crops and products of vegetable origin against diseases and pests. In case of infection (weediness) of crops the Governor, at request of the federal authority competent in the sphere of plant quarantine, shall make decision on application of quarantine to a certain territory or area. The following arrangements shall be applicable for protection of agricultural crops: (a) setting up regional integrated plant protection system; (b) application of preventive arrangements for protection of crops against diseases and pests; (c) integrated pest management strategies; and (d) monitoring.
