This Regional Law enters into force on the date of its official publication.
Abstract

This Regional Law regulates establishes legal basis for selection of new plant varieties, utilization and trade of seeds of agricultural crops, and also organization and performance of plant variety and seed control. It shall be applicable to seeds inserted in the State Register of Selection. Agricultural seeds shall be classified as follows: (a) original; (b) elite; and (c) reproduction. Forest seeds shall be classified as follows: (a) normal; (b) improved; and (c) variety. Only seeds complying with state standards and variety requirements shall be authorized for seed production. The authorized state institution State Seed Inspection shall exercise supervision over plant variety and seed control related to areas under crops and seeds owned by legal persons irrespectively of the form of ownership. State support to seed growing of agricultural crops shall be granted in the form of preferential tax application, compensation of part of expenditure for seed growing and subsidies.
