This Regional Law enters into force on the date of its official publication.
Abstract

This Regional Law establishes the modalities of radiation control of transboundary commodities in the process of transit transportation through regional territory with a view of preventing radioactive contamination thereof. It shall have the following purposes: (a) ensuring radiation safety of the population and the environment; (b) supervision and control over sources of ionizing radiation on the territory, entrance and exit thereof; (c) prevention of unauthorized import and transit of hazardous radioactive substances and cargo. Radiation control shall be applicable in accordance with the following radiation control and radiation safety principles: (a) reliability and completeness of radiation control; (b) compliance of radiation characteristics of commodities with certified properties of commodities; and (c) rate setting – compatibility of radiation indices with established radiation levels from all sources of ionizing radiation.
