Abstract Forests can be used to carry out activities in the field of hunting. Forest areas shall be allotted to legal entities, individual entrepreneurs for the performance of activities in the field of hunting on the basis of hunting management contracts concluded in accordance with the federal law on hunting and the preservation of hunting resources, and lease agreements for forest areas. In forest areas allotted for the performance of activities in the field of hunting, it is allowed to create objects of hunting infrastructure in accordance with the federal law on hunting and the preservation of hunting resources. Individual entrepreneurs and legal entities that manage forests to carry out activities in the field of hunting, shall be authorized to: (a) carry out a set of biotechnical measures (installation of feeding grounds, planting fodder and protective plants, making artificial nesting sites and shelters for animals and birds and other activities); (b) to harvest wood-branch feed for wild fauna species; (c) to carry out the reconstruction of forest areas by forest management methods (afforestation and reforestation) including areas under low-value plantings, in accordance with the forest development project; (d) maintain and breed hunting resources in semi-free conditions in accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation on wild fauna; (e) to use the forest plot within the limits established by the lease agreement; (f) to erect temporary structures (hunting huts, cordons, towers, bird hides, hiding places for hunters, traps and other objects) for the duration of forest management, associated with the performance of this type of forest management; (g) to carry out, in coordination with the lessor, the construction and repair of roads necessary for the performance of this type of forest management; (h) to receive, in the established manner, information on the forest area transferred for the performance of this type of forest management; and (i) to exercise other rights if their implementation does not contradict the requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation and the forest plot lease agreement.
